ABS FC gave their fight against relegation a boost as they defeated Kaduna United by 3-1.

From the blast of the referee’s whistle, ABS FC hounded their visitors with a blitz of venomous attacking football which paid instant dividends as they secured a three-goal lead by the 25th minute of the game.

Abdulrahman Bashir, who just returned from trials in Belgium, opened scoring as early as the second minute, before Aminu Kadiri increased the tally for the hosts five minutes later.

A perfect chip by Andrew Abalogwu over Kaduna’s onrushing keeper in the 24th minute effectively sealed the win for the hosts. However, Emma Ambrose scored a consolatory goal for Kaduna two minutes into the resumption of the second half.

In the other game for the day between Ocean Boys and Rising Stars, Ocean were walked over for a second time in two days as they once again failed to show up for the game.

As at the time of reporting, neither the NPL nor its three-man committee set up to address the Ocean Boys fracas had made an official statement with regard to the new development.
