Kaizer Chiefs 'cannot comment' on Bobby Motaung's arrest

Posted: 16 August 2012 Time: 10:24 am

Kaizer Chiefs have released a statement about the arrest of Bobby Motaung, while a crowd outside court in Nelspruit hold up placards reading 'Dubula u Bobby'.

The Amakhosi football manager was arrested by the Hawks on Wednesday, reportedly on charges of forgery and fraud in relation to his role in the construction of the Mbombela Stadium.

The details of the case against Motaung are yet to be made public, although a crowd is gathering outside court in Nelspruit as he is set to appear this morning.

City Press journalist Sizwe sama Yende tweeted: "People wearing ANC T-shirts are starting to protest. Dubula u Bobby (shoot Bobby) they chant" and "'Who killed Jimmy?' shouts a placard outside Bobby Motaung & co court".

The Jimmy referred to is Mbombela municipality speaker Jimmy Mohlala, who was shot dead in his Nelspruit house in 2009.

Mohlala had blown the whistle on Mbombela municipal manager Jacob Dladla, who was accused of manipulating 2010 construction contracts, and was also investigating a fraud case involving a company belonging to Motaung that was responsible for the construction of Mbombela Stadium.

A statement on Chiefs' website reads: "The Club has not received any formal confirmation of Bobby Motaung's arrest and therefore cannot comment on the matter at this time."

"Dubul'uBobby"...... hah that's very strong. People should learn from this, that crime does not pay. I hope Hawks will widen their net and catch all those who are like Kaizer's son (Bobby), the likes of Julius Malema, Cassel Mathale, Khulubuse Zuma and a lot like them.

My beloved Team is failing dismally on the PR exercise, but to respect the LAW, The names of the accused cannot be disclosed before the accused appear in court. Only after the parties have posted bail that's when it can be made public

Ask King with his Tolokaar Certificate, he will confirm this!!

But to deny this mess??? Unbelievable!!!!!

This has got nothing to do with futbal, particularly Kaizer chiefs. Its a personal matter and people must treat it this way. Anyone who commits crime wil be arrested for sure. The law will take its cause while we continue dishing out free half dozens of eggs to clubs.
