Stars give up on Mabokgwane

Platinum Stars give up on Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane

Platinum Stars have revealed they have given up trying to lure Jackson Mabokgwane to Rustenburg on a permanent deal.

Mabokgwane, who is still contracted to Mamelodi Sundowns, was on loan at Dikwena last season and the North West-based club intended to buy him outright after he impressed during the loan spell.

Now, however, they have thrown in the towel after talks between them and Sundowns broke down.

"We are disappointed that we could not manage to come to an agreement for Jackson, but we wish him all the best for his future," Stars general manager Jason Raine says.

Mabokgwane, who made 17 appearances for Dikwena, will now have to battle it out with Wayne Sandilands, Calvin Marlin and Dennis Onyango for a starting berth at Sundowns, with little prospect of winning the number one jersey.

In business you loose some and win some...Same here, Stars should buy him out of his contract...Nothing for Mahala...

it's unfair, he is fourth on the list and the chances of him getting the nod ahead of those guys are none. They should have allowed the guy to move on....

Obviously they don't need this boy this season, but they just hang on to him for the hell of it.
