Pitso: I will be back

Pitso Mosimane says he will bounce back to local football

Posted: 16 August 2012 Time: 07:19 am

Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane, who is locked in a labour dispute with Safa, says he will bounce back to local football "once the dust is settled".

Mosimane was sacked two years into his four-year contract after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Ethiopia in South Africa's opening 2014 World Cup qualifyier on June 3.

Since his dismissal, Mosimane has been linked with a move to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, touted to become the club's technical director.

The former Bafana mentor was also linked with a move to Bidvest Wits following the dismissal of Roger de Sa. However, the job was given to Antonio Lopez Habas.

In a chat with KickOff.com, Mosimane said he would weigh up his options once he had finished dealing with "some issues".

"I will make a return to local football. Not now, but when I have finished with some issues that I am dealing with," says Mosimane.

The former Bafana coach did not want to talk about his pending dispute with Safa, which is being handled by the Commission of Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).

The former SuperSport United coach, who is said to have earned R800 000 a month, is reported to be seeking around R10-million for his unfair dismissal, while Safa are said to have offered him about R5-million.

"That case is being handled by my lawyer so I have nothing further to say," he says.

Safa again this man should have been given performance base contract not what safa had given him...R800,000.00 PER MONTH this is madness...the money should hv been used for development and developing some football centres in rural areas than giving it to Mosimane. Safa dug their Own grave...this mosimane demanded this salary cz of Santana and Alberto pareirra, when working as assistant as those two were earning about millions for nothing...SAFA fear brazzilans mxm

To hell with you Pitso, Bafana is in this state because of your arrogance. Don't come back, there is no development in South Africa as you were quoted saying.

When will this era of our couches not being ambitious to spread their wings in the African continent and Europe??? For them to be fully tested, they must be adventorous and go gain International experience in foreign Countries where conditions are harsh and tough!!

SAFA must encourage this in their National coaching plan

We want to read not only about our players, but our coaches who are commanding respect in Foreign soil!!

Pitso, get out of your comfort zone and explore International Countries!! You can even start with Lesotho/Swaziland!!

Why are most of you apes racist and xenophobic... you just can't see three paces ahead of life without seeing a black and white rainbow... why why why???? For ur information, life is not built on race, racism is just a construct developed by those poor weaker peoples who were at a disadvantage... life has always been built around two things... power and economics!

Funny how life evolves, during his tenure at Bafanax2 he did not want pirates players in the team no matter how hardworking they've been. If selected, he would play them late in a game and give other underperfoming, unfit players game time even though they never play at their respective teams.
Khoza being a diplomat he is, he invited Pitso to OPFC functions not to show off but to make him the teams success. I won't rule out the possibility of him coaching OPFC next season.
