Olomu has been handed his clearance and joins former youth international wingback Calvin Sosibo at the club's exit door.
Sosibo's contract has been terminated after an injury-ravaged stay at the club.
Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia reveals that Olomu – who was recently training with University of Pretoria – has now left the club as a free agent.
"We have agreed to a termination deal with Prince and he is now a free agent. He was into his last year of his contract with us but now has his clearance," Kadodia says.
Though Olomu impressed Tuks, the PSL rookies have indicated that they cannot sign him as a foreigner and will only consider him once he has his permanent residence permit, which he has already applied for as he now meets the minimum requirement of five years in the country.
Regarding Sosibo, who played just five matches since joining last year, Kadodia says they have also reached a termination deal.
Apparently Sosibo has a long-standing injury, which he has been carrying for some years, that is taking too long to heal, forcing Maritzburg to dump him.
"We have reached a termination deal with Sosibo because of injury-related matters that both parties are aware of," Kadodia says.
