Swallows to sign Mashego, Sibisi leaves

Moroka Swallows to sign Katlego Mashego, Diyo Sibisi leaves

Posted: 10 August 2012 Time: 08:56 am

Moroka Swallows coach Zeca Marques says he will be recommending the club sign striker Katlego Mashego, but will not be signing Diyo Sibisi.

The duo have been training with the Dube Birds for the past two weeks, with the hope of landing contracts, but Marques revealed that Sibisi has already left the club.

Mashego is still training with the team, and Marques says he is impressed with the Bushbuckridge-born striker.

"Mashego is still here. He has been training with us for the past week or so. He has been looking sharp. I think I will recommend he be signed," Marques says.

"As to what his salary expectations are, I do not know. That is not my department. That's for our CEO Leon Prins to do," he adds.

"Diyo stopped training with us. We cannot sign everyone. We have a budget to stick to. It is unfortunate for him but he is still a good player," Marques says.

Swallows will be looking to start their League campaign on a high note when they visit Platinum Stars on Sunday.

Mahoota is slowly but surely nearing the end of his career, when you are a professional player and available in the market, teams dont fight for your signature and you have to trial at your age then you must know you have expired. Cannot say i am surprised considering your attitude.Your mouth is too big for a soccer player, wonder where to from here.

The player has been training with the club for over a week and this coach says he THINKS he will recommend Mashego to be signed?...Ja ne South African football can be a joke sometimes...This coach will never make it to second round with Swallows...he clueless and his appointment is questionable....Swallows deserve a better coach.

Anyway why do professional players go for trials at another the PSL club?...Imagine Yeye going for trial at Chippa United.....

The Phefeni Boy: u do you have to go through an interview process for any job you may pursue.

Mpefeni boy, your question just concluded your Grade R thinking capacity.

i work for RMB and want to join BoE or Investec, i must go through a recruitment process, even though i am over qualified for that role.

Its simple bro the poor guy has come to the end of his career, ask yourself why Golden Arrows did nt wanna keep him. Mashego is no team player n he just stroll on the pitch the whole 90minutes. Also one has to verify if he does nt have gum diseases before signing him.

Did Sifiso Myeni and Patrick Phungwayo come for trials at Pirates? or were they signed without trials?

Myeni was signed by Pirates while he was on an injury(Broken leg) ..so how did he pass he trials?

Phungwayo signed a pre-contract with Pirates while playing for Wits...when did he come for trials at Pirates?

Don't be an idiot...

Is it safe to say both Myeni and Phungwayo got hired without being interviewed from BIDvest Bank to Investec?

I hear you but why was he asked to come for trials at the first place, if they know his attitude and again is trial necessary for a player like Mashego? or any player in the PSL for that matter..imagine Andile Jali going for trial at Sundowns?

Phungwayo grew up within Pirates structures, this move was a re-union.

Myeni is a special player and a star, this is an exception. He can join any time in this fashion.

The Phefeni Boy, why are u calling me an idiot now bra. Mahoota did n't have that much impact at Arrows hence it is fair for Swallows to assess him based on their assessment standards.

Shabba would have to trial at Pirates like he did at Palace and Forest.
