Bucs close cheque book

Orlando Pirates coach Augusto Palacios has hinted that the club may have closed their cheque book

Orlando Pirates coach Augusto Palacios has hinted that the club may have closed their cheque book for the current transfer window.

Bucs have named a 31-man squad for the 2012/13 season and if Palacios' word is anything to go by, he is happy with the squad at his disposal.

"I don't think at this moment we have time for trialists or to experiment. I think we are covered for every position," he says.

Nigerian striker Yero Bello was on trial with the club recently, but he won't be signing with the club as Palacios insists Pirates have enough firepower.

"We have six strikers including the new signing from Zimbabwe (Takesure Chinyama)," he adds.

Furthermore, Mark Mayambela, who apparently could be offloaded, is still very much part of the team… for now at least.

Pirates' 31-man squad for the 2012/13 season:

Goalkeepers: Moeneeb Josephs, Senzo Meyiwa, Brighton Mhlongo, Ntando Nkala

Defenders: Rooi Mahamutsa, Lucky Lekgwathi, Siyabonga Sangweni, Mbongeni Gumede, Robyn Johannes, Happy Jele, Bheki Nzunga, Thabo Matlaba, Patrick Phungwayo, Ayanda Gcaba

Midfielders: Oupa Manyisa, Manti Moholo, Thandani Ntshumayelo, Andile Jali, Onyekachi Okonkwo, Mpho Makola, Mark Mayambela, Daine Klate, Sifiso Myeni, Khethowakhe Masuku, Tlou Segolela, Rudolf Bester

Strikers: Thulasizwe Mbuyane, Bongani Ndulula, Ndumiso Mabena, Benni McCarthy, Takesure Chinyama

There is no story here. Mr Editor, do you have to publish everything said by players and coaches? Who is the sixth striker? Only five are mentioned. Or is Palacios the player coach?

United we stand magents and thank you for your patriotism towards this great club of ours called Kaizer Chiefs, This forum will be nothing without us and KickOff will be nothing without Kaizer Chiefs.

WE continue to rally behind this club even in the darkest hour, our neighbors stood by their club for over 8 years without a single trophy....whats 12 months?

Let them talk and laugh as loud as they can but football has no owner and the ball is round, which means it can roll to any direction.
