Baxter: We will bounce back

Stuart Baxter says Kaizer Chiefs will improve against AmaZulu

Posted: 7 August 2012 Time: 12:25 pm

Stuart Baxter has backed his Kaizer Chiefs players to make a quick recovery following their embarrassing defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend.

Amakhosi started their season on a disastrous note, losing 4-1 to The Brazilians in the MTN8 Cup, and will have to pick themselves up quickly ahead of this weekend’s League season opener against AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Baxter admits he was livid with the way his side defended against Sundowns, and has promised that they will be better this weekend in Durban.

“Of course whenever you lose like this the next battle becomes more important,” he says.

“The players will want a little bit of respect among themselves and they should be thinking about the things that didn’t work well against Sundowns; they should be working the whole week to put that right.

“I think sometimes you look at the game afterwards and you see things that you didn’t see when you watching the game live. What I saw is glaring mistakes in defending set plays and allowing the opponents too much space to time their movement behind our backline.”

However, Baxter is confident the players will have put the Downs defeat to the back of their minds when they face Usuthu.

“We have be working on that [the defence] and have been making sure that Chiefs players want to work on that and continue with the progress they made.

“The players will bounce back. I know it is a big task, but they will,” he says.

Staurt Fraudster, bounce back to what, really?

You only bounce back to what you had before, Mr. Stuard Frauster. Pirates FOUR example, should they underperform (as wished by all of you) will bounce back to their winning ways winning another treble or more.

Bouncing back to winning a game or 2 only makes KC 1 of the teams in the PSL not a big club. And winning a trophy in a season (not the league) is mediocre at its best.

Bouncing back is not a difficult task, CV Cooker (Pirates did after we were written off to win the league all season). By declaring hallucinatory difficulty to the avarage players you have, you have already killed their hope of performing.

By the way, has someone told you that KC turns the corner & win the league in FOUR games? You do that, you are in FOUR a successful season at KC.

And why did we sign Moleko if we are going to improvise and play Lincoln out of possition? Or is it a plot to come later and blame Lincoln for underperforming? Did we sign Nkosi to come and just walk into the starting 11 without fighting for the position? Same goes for Matoho more especially after the wonderful display by Mashamaite against pirates. Is Baloyi surplus to ur requirements coach? & why exactly do we play with 4 attacking midfielders without a defensive one while Katsande (Salt & Vinegar) is there. When is management going to learn that in the absence of Shabba and Yeye there is no Chiefs? When are we going to sign players to assist those two in cases of injuries and suspensions?

The season is yet to start but Stuart's face is pink already. I wonder how he will look like once Pirates continue their dominace, starting with the MTN8 because Bobby's dogs will be barking at him, reminding him of his fraudulent CV which they do not care about now.
