John Owoeri's debut for Sunshine Stars is being held up because the Akure club are yet to receive his international transfer certificate.

The former Enyimba striker joined from Ismaily a one of three players recently signed by Sunshine but is yet to make a competitive start.

"We have done everything we need to do but it is out of our hands now," Mike Idoko of the Ondo State Football Agency, said.

"The FA and his agent are handling it now. They need to make a formal request to Ismaily through the Egypt FA for the ITC to be released."

Idoko is confident that Owoeri, who joined along with Sunday Emmanuel and Jude Ebitogwa, will be given the all clear before their CAF Champions League return fixture at Algeria's ASO Chief in a fortnight "We have been assured that everything will be ready before our next match.

"If he had played on Sunday, we would have scored more goals."
