Masilela in action against Lionel Messi in a La Liga match in April

Masilela/Chiefs rumours intensify

Tsepo Masilela set to sign for Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 6 August 2012 Time: 10:34 am

Tsepo Masilela was spotted in the Kaizer Chiefs VIP box during their 4-1 hammering by Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Sunday, and rumour has it that he will definitely sign for Amakhosi.

Masilela still has a one-year contract with Maccabi Haifa in Israel, but it looks like he is no longer in their plans. He spent the past season on loan at Getafe in Spain.

After the Bafana Bafana defender was spotted sitting with Jimmy Tau and Siphiwe Tshabalala during the match, the rumour is that he will be unveiled as a Chiefs player before the end of this week.

However, coach Stuart Baxter, who was livid at his defence after the match, says he does not know anything about the player joining them at the moment.

"I don't really know what you talking about to be fair, I also don't know who my players speak to. I can't be interested in any player in South Africa just because one of my players speaks to them," Baxter says.

"I think if we were interested in the player you will hear it from the club through official channels, to answer your question I don't think so," he says.

Baxter says he was surprised about the way his backline defended against Sundowns, especially in set-pieces, where Chiefs conceded three goals.

"If any coach says that he is worried after conceding four goals, if he is telling the truth he will say yes. Because you don't like conceding four goals," he says.

Virtually the whole SA diski world was buzzing with zebras excited at the news that Kaizer Chiefs Management might send out a tender to hire a company to build Twin Towers at very expensive cost which was largely sponsored by Vodacom. When Chiefs Marketing Director unveiled the ‘Twin Towers Plan’ along the new signees, it was met with ululations, excitement and vuvuzela blowing. It took certain izikhothane who were fresh from their Annual Swaziland trip to completely demolish the overrated Twin Towers within 37mins. It is believed that a sad and angry honourable Mr Motaung Snr has solicited the services of his friend, Iron Duke to send out his soldiers (where Mr Motaung got his military training) to avenge this embarrassment asap. Word on the streets has it that, strangely, fans of Kaizer Motaung Team wouldn’t like either to see Iron Duke`s soldiers to be the ones avenging their embarrassment but it’s said that Mr Motaung`s son has called fans to back off as it’s a family matter. Its also believed that though chips didnt go through to the semis, word has it that chips fans are very much through to the semis and will make the loudest noise
Stay tuned on the latest news on this.

Not that I say defenders brought in so far was a bad news but i feel we should be focusing on beefing up the midfield. Dladla n Nkosi are just ordinary playas. We can hav better playas in place of Zvasia n Katsande.. y shud we fill foreign slots wth useless players?! Chiefs need 2 or 3 consistent tricky, offensive players. who cn take on defenders n force them mistakes. So far we dnt have at all!!!

I hope KC has learned its lesson that BB defenders = disaster. Masilela will not bring anything new to the team, the sooner he meets the likes of Tlou & Myeni the sooner he will spend most of his time on the injury table. He is a spent force that can't even tackle without worrying about a recurring humstring injury. Methinks, the like of Jambo & Ritchie will still continue playing...

KC must look for talent in our NFD if they are serious.

To me this is very sad especially with the picture attached to this story, here we are our better players coming back to an average league while our national team struggles. Tshepo is seen here marking Messi, there's no Messi or Ronaldo in the PSL or anything closer to those 2. So coming here means competing against mediocrity that won't improve ones game. Look at Mphela,Khune,Tshabalala can we say they have improved after world cup? Answer is NO.

i dont think the left back position has a problem, chiefs need a real number 10 and a defensive middlefied, y not play ritchie or mashaite in tht position? y didnt the coach bringin mashamaite instead of zva and push matoho to right back, yes Chiefs bought well Twin Towers are the best, we need to defend set pieces well, they were tight at the back as for tower i was impressed with him ask Teko ,he can defend hold and pass unlike zva and jambo

Your addition to our team will be highly appreciated. Can Kaizer Snr speak to the " Chairman " weSpepepe to please sell us Ntandani Ntshumaelo? Please Mabhakania can you do us that favour? Even Ngobeni is on the transfer list we can get him to fill the space.

The hardships that we encounter will help us succeed in the future.
