Sunshine Stars defeat ASO Chlef to boost Champions League aspirations.

Goals from Dele Olorundare and Super Eagles forward Izu Azuka were enough to hand Sunshine Stars all the points at stake from their Algerian opponents.

Dele Olorundare headed home from a corner kick in the 48th minute to open the scoring for the hosts at the Dapo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, while Izu Azuka kept his composure to put the ball into the net of the opponent in the 60th minute, after he found space to go one-on-one with the visitors' goalkeeper.

The victory has boosted the Nigerian club's bid to qualify for the semi-finals, while their opponents, who just suffered a third consecutive loss in the competition, seem to have had their fates sealed.

Sunshine Stars now have four points from three games, having suffered a loss and a draw in their two previous games.

Every year Nigeria sent different kinds of team to CAF competitions yet the find themselves in the CCL group stage at times semis or lossing finalist. Irrespective of who goes there,,,expect something good. In Egypt its Zamalek and Al hly, In South Africa Olando pirates and kasier chiefs(both perpertual absentees), Ghana: kotoko and hearts.Tunisia (ESS and Esperance) appart frm these two no other team does well in Africa. That is why I accept the fact Ngr has the best leauge because any team u send will do well besides sunshine donot have the funds or with management near to clubs mentioned above.

Congrats to Sunshine Stars. I like their style of play, very attractive soccer. They need to be very precise in shooting and maintain composure in the opposition penalty area......'accuracy before power'. They can qualify for semi-finals with adequate preparation and determination. The management board also have a huge role to play, football and politics are twins. I saw Al Ahly brush aside Berekum Chelsea and also saw a magnificent display by TP Mezembe, if Sunshine can triumph against these two clubs, they require something special......who knows, everything is possible. May the Sun always shine on you guys. Good-luck.
