Kadi in hospital after collision of heads

Bidvest Wits new signing Calvin Kadi injures his head at training

Bidvest Wits newly signed striker Calvin Kadi suffered a head injury when he collided with teammate Letsie Koapeng at training this morning.

Kadi, who signed for the Clever Boys two weeks ago, is still in hospital and doctors are monitoring his condition.

Bidvest Wits assistant coach Eric Tinkler tells KickOff.com that Kadi's injury is "not that serious," however, for safety's sake the doctors had to have a closer look at him.

"It's not extremely serious, there was Letsie Koapeng who had a bit of a cut on his head and Kadi came off the worse out of the two.

"He stopped played immediately because the doctors were concerned about concussion, I think they are going to assess him and maybe send him for an X-ray."

There still no clarity on how long Kadi will be out.

Wits' opening League fixture is away to Free State Stars next week Saturday, and the Clever Boys will be hoping he is back on his feet by then.
