Nthethe has been with his hometown club for a decade and during that time Celtic have only won the 2005 SAA Supa8 though he didn't play in that Final.
So with the MTN8 kicking off again tonight with Celtic to face the intimidating challenge of holders Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium, Nthethe is holding hope of a smash and grab as he enters his fourth year as skipper.
"As captain I definitely feel the urge to lift a trophy for the team and our fans. I have been with the club for a very long time and as captain I really do want to lift a trophy for the club and this is one of the cups that I strongly believe we stand a good chance of winning because the route is so short.
"Also as a captain you always want to be remembered for having done well during your reign and you only do that by winning trophies," says Nthethe.
"The coach has been telling us that you only play three games to be in the final so this Cup provides probably the quickest way for us to win silverware. If we can hold our focus and utilise our chances we should definitely be able to get this one in the bag. I am feeling confident about our chances. With the support that we have which a lot of teams don't have we need to make sure that we bring some silverware to Bloem," he says.
Nthethe is quietly positive that if they can eliminate Pirates then they will have gotten past the heaviest challenge.
"This is a new season and it will be a new game tonight so we are in with as good a chance as anybody else. We respect them but we are up to the challenge of taking them head on," says Nthethe.
