Rising Stars and Kaduna United win Nigeria Premier League home matches

Posted: 3 August 2012 Time: 10:43 am

It was a day for comebacks, as Rising Stars and Kaduna United come from a goal down to win at home in their Week 36 games of the Nigeria Premier League.

At Ado-Ekiti, Rising Stars were stunned by visiting ABS FC who took the lead in the 6th minute through Kingsley Onovo, however Kayode Agboola equalized for the home side and Segun Bajowa scored the winner in the second half to end the game 2-1.

At Kaduna it was 'penalties-galore' as Insidibe Olivier converted from the spot twice for the home side, after Terry Envoh had earlier given Sharks the lead.

The game in Kaduna was however marred by allegations of questionable officiating as three controversial penalty kicks were awarded to the hosts, one of which was lost, in a game that is reported to have lasted for over one hundred minutes.

The only week 36 fixtures left to be played are those involving Rangers and Sunshine Stars - which will be played after the latter square off against ASO Chief on Algeria in the CAF Champions League. And Wikki Tourists' of Bauchi and Ocean Boys of Yenagoa, which is supposed to be played this weekend.

It will be recalled the NPL has put the games for Week 37 and 38 on ice, pending the determination of lingering issues at the Organisation and Disciplinary Committee as well as the Appeals committee.
