Motsepe weighs up Xulu offer

Patrice Motsepe weighs up Siyanda Xulu offer from FC Rostov in Russia

Posted: 2 August 2012 Time: 11:12 am

There are strong indications that Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyanda Xulu will soon be leaving the Chloorkop-based club for Russian outfit FC Rostov.

The 20-year-old player is high on the Russian club's wanted list after impressing the coaches during a recent trial stint.

Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed to KickOff.com that they have received an offer for the promising young defender and will be weighing up their options before responding to the Russians.

"At this stage it would be premature to say that we have reached an agreement with the club regarding Xulu," Sundowns spokesperson Kabelo Mosito says.

"I will not get into any figures related to the deal. The process is ongoing and the club will issue a statement when the time is appropriate," he adds.

Xulu's representative Paul Mitchel describes the negotiations as "promising" and remains confident the player will play in Europe this season.

A source at the club says Sundowns Patrice Motsepe is seriously considering the "good offer" from FC Rostov.

With the Brazilians having signed two defenders – Alje Schut from FC Utrecht and Wayne Arendse from relegated side Santos – Xulu is likely to be given the green light to sign with the Russian club.

At the age of 20, the sky is the limit for you ntwana. Make Russia your first step to the major European leagues. Don't come back in two years and sign for Zebra's like most 'European rejects' do recently. Remember Fat Elbow was also almost your age when he started at minor leagues before making it big in Europe.

Good Luck Xulu... Its not gonna be easy, but with hardwork & determination, u'll achieve plenty, as u're still young, so go out there & perform to your best, if given a chance!!!

At least u even get called up for trials... Unlike some so called PSL Galaxy stars who were playing skop & donner diski. As usual, till the 96th minute when a fat elbow intervened for them; their players don't even get a call up, all we here are just rumours that amount to nothing every season!!
#small teams export their players to china... not europe!!

MASILELA & MASALESA for CHIEFS.....as for SIYANDA XULU, well done boy. Some are claiming to be wanted by clubs in England, and their chairman is still applying his mind. Your offer is on the table, The Light Skinned Guy must make his decision very quick, but since he has more brains unlike some Unqualified Toothles Doctor it shouldn't be problem.

So that Dutch madala was signed to replace this Xulu just because he aint light skined"? Some strategies.
Booth made it there from Chockers, Sibaya made it from Cowsmos, Bhele made it from Zebras so why cant this super-talented un-aging guy not make it?Just saying.

Good luck for the upteenth time. I've lost count on how many times I said "goodbye" to someone next door, 'till I figured he doesnt need luck. He fails by default.

Again, just saying.

Joh I wish he gets a call up to that team. This is one of the boys who engineered our second round slump last season. Against chiefs, I will not forget that moment. Meanwhile, can he please take maponyane with him? Jerre those two!
