Former Golden Eaglet, Eddy Onazi, may get his chance in the ultra-competitive Serie A with Lazio in the upcoming season.

Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic has used the Nigerian midfielder in pre-season and the youngster’s form may convince Serie A heavyweights to take a chance on a player who made his debut for the Biancocelesti in May this year.

The midfielder has been utilised in both central midfield and right-midfield areas where he has played against Torino, Siena, Montebelluna and Top 11 Calcio Club 103 in Lazio's friendly matches.

Onazi was brought on by Petkovic in the second half of every of the matches and performed admirably well.

He is part of a Nigerian duo in the Lazio Reserves that includes 2009 Under-17 Fifa World Cup highest goal scorer, Sani Emmanuel.

The former Golden Eaglet has a contract that expires at the end of the 2013/14 season but could now earn a longer contract which will see the 19-year old earning about 180,000 Euros (N35 million) per annum.
