Erasmus is back home after his trial with Helsingborgs but is expected to jet off out the country soon to start his new football career in Sweden.
A source close to both the player and United says the deal is as good as done.
"There are a few things still to be sorted out between SuperSport and the Swedish club before Kermit returns back to Sweden to start his soccer career with Helsingborgs.
"Both club and player have already agreed on personal terms," adds the source.
Matsantsa manager Godfrey Mosoetsa refused to comment about the Kermit deal and referred KickOff.com to club official Graham Abrahams who is unfortunately in London for the Olympic Games.
"Its only Mr. Abrahams and Stan Matthews who can comment about the issue of Kermit Erasmus. Unfortunately both officials are currently out of the country," says Mosoetsa.
However coach Gavin Hunt confirms that he has started preparing for the season without Erasmus.
"I don't know the latest but it seems he won’t be playing for us this season," says Hunt.
