Ayanda Patosi was on target for his Belgian side Lokeren on Saturday as they got the new Jupiler League season off to a winning start.

Patosi scored the opening goal for his team in a 4-2 success at Germinal Beerschot, putting behind them the disappointing of losing the Super Cup to Anderlecht last weekend.

The 19-year-old will be pleased with a goal in his opening League game of what could be a pivotal campaign in his career.

Also in Belgium, Bafana Bafana right-back Anele Ngcongca played as Genk started with a 3-3 home draw against Cercle Brugge, while neither Daylon Claasen (injured0 or Lance Davis (not selected) played for Lierse as they lost 2-0 at Gent.

Darren Keet started on the bench for Kortrijk against defending champions Anderlecht, but was introduced on 62 minutes after the hosts had their regular number one, Kristof van Hout, sent-off.

In Sweden, May Mahlangu and Helsingborf continued their stuttering defence of their League title with a surprise 2-1 home loss to Norrkoping, while Bradley Ralani played for Landskrona in the second-tier as they went down 2-0 to Brommapojkarna.

Thulani Serero was left on the bench for Ajax Amsterdam in their 1-0 friendly win at newly-promoted English Premiership side Southampton, while Kagisho Dikgacoi got his first run of the pre-season in a 2-0 win for Crystal Palace at Aldershot.

Serero's talent is being wasted by Ajax Amsterdam. He's not even playing in friendlies. At Age 22 he should be cementing his place now at Ajax not warming the bench coz we still want to see him playing in bigger leagues(Barclays or the Liga BBVA).
