Itumeleng Khune gets the most votes in Carling Black Label Cup

Itumeleng Khune has expressed his delight after it emerged that he garnered more votes than any other player during the Carling Black Label Cup voting period.

The Kaizer Chiefs skipper amassed approximately 2.2 million votes over the five-week period and ‘Spiderkid' is seemingly grateful for the support from the multitude of the Amakhosi fans.

"I'm so humbled by the support that I got from the fans and I would like to thank them for voting for me. I'm out of words," he says.

"I'm so happy to realise that so many people believe in me as a player. It really feels like my contribution in the field is valued and appreciated countrywide so now the challenge for me is to go out there on Saturday and make sure I don't disappoint my fans," he adds.

Bucs goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs got 1.1 million votes and his teammate Benni McCarthy was third in the popularity stakes with 917 679 votes to his name. In all, approximately 20.9 million votes were cast.

Meanwhile, Khune says he would be ready to take a penalty if necessary despite ballooning his shot over the crossbar in last year's Carling Black Label Cup that drew taunts from soccer fans and most importantly, handed the trophy to Chiefs' bitter rivals.

"I did practice penalties, but I don't think this time around the Carling Black Label Cup will be decided on penalties. If that happens, I'm more than ready to take one," he insists.

15 million votes by KC fans .Out of the remaining the 5.9 million, 3 million are KC fans who felt pity for the less fortunate OP supporters. Black Label please resort the traditional voting system for the OP supporters, because these OP fans are old people who are technologically challenged,and provide them with a ballot paper with an IFP logo next to the OP one. They will definitely put an X.

I am a DTC supporter, but truth be told, you can never fault the Zoo fans, they always put their money where their mouths are. We are DTC for crying out loud, why should these people outdo us?

Black & Gold, dont take it personal Khos'lam, these our brothers. Games are won by goals, debates are won by words. They dont hate KC they are opposition,and they dont have to like it, but they mean well all in a name of sports.

I mean Nespray gives me headache everyday, bu he makes me laugh... hahaha

Khosiologyst is now in hospital, u shawe umfazi for using all his salary of R2500 (Domestic worker) to buy Black label so that he can vote for i Khosi on various media houses.

The Dr happened to be a Pirates fan and he is now not going to get treatment because he went there with a full zebra attire, a loaf of bread nabo mangola ne forro e yellow.

I hope Josephs understand why he will always come second to Khune and as for the likes of Champ-Marapo,Bucajovich and king it shows that you guys support Pirates because you hate chiefs. Statistics speaks for themselves. Dankie Makhosi for voting for your team.
