Free State Stars have signed 18 new players ahead of the 2012/13 season – most of them virtual unknowns.

Only seven of the new signings have some background in the PSL; goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng last played for Santos, while other familiar faces are Mbuyiselo Sambu and Reuben Thebakang, who were on Platinum Stars' books last season.

The duo of Angelo Kurspuy and Luyanda Hlongwa arrive from neighbours Bloemfontein Celtic, while Taonga Dondo and Tsietsi Mkhwanazi were snapped up from relegated outfit Jomo Cosmos.

The rest of the signings are: Enva Esterhuyzen, Benjamin van Heerden, Clement Mokgope, Daniel Cardoso, Jessie Jackson, Luyola Nomandela, Mandla Ncikazi, Moeketsi Mvula, Sibusiso Mthethwa, Thapelo Mkhatshwa and Thapelo Morweng.

Steve is being stupid. We've seen time and again how disastrous signing hordes of players at once can do to a team. Recipe for disaster this one.

people you are not being fair to Steve. FFS lost a lot of players this off season, including 4 that is signed by pirates. Pirates has signed 13 players on top of their existing 62 players, chiefs signed 9 players, and almost all teams are signing huge numbers.

Atleast one team is bringing up the new and unknown talent to the PSL.... Come end of the season, every big team will be trying to snatch those boys from Stars....
example of unknown players from Stars who shined and got snatched.

Come the end of the season, Bucs, KC and Downs will be fighting to sign most of these relatively unknown and inexperienced players. Mark my words Steve will turn these players to be strars (Manqele is Proof)

Tsietsi Mkhwanazi is the good left back, having lost Gcaba, I think they sign a good player in him. I saw him playing few games for Cosmos and I think he's a good player. He can make good crosses and he's covering the space well.

the only advantage here is that there are no big names. It makes sense for him to do so because he cant hold on to his good players. How many palyers has he lost this year?It hampers his continuity but he doesnt have a choice.
