Zim striker at Pirates' training

Zimbabwean striker Takesure Chinyama training with Orlando Pirates

Posted: 25 July 2012 Time: 11:20 am

Zimbabwean striker Takesure Chinyama has started training with Orlando Pirates.

KickOff.com is attending Pirates’ training session and among the new faces at training is Chinyama.

However, Bucs PRO Mickey Modisane is quick to point out that the player is being assessed at this stage, and distances himself from rumours that the player has already agreed on a three-year deal.

“He's being assessed, that's the official word,” Modisane says from the Rand Stadium.

KickOff.com earlier reported that Zimbabwean side Dynamos are holding out for R1.2million for the player.

Meanwhile, Tiyani Mabasa reports from training that Happy Jele is looking sharp at training, and even beat Moeneeb Josephs with a long-range shot.

Jele spent most of last season on the sidelines with a knee injury.

This is a Joke. can anyone tell me how do you offer someone three years Contract and also are negotiating with his team for a transfer fee without having assessed him initially?

Pirates is really becoming a Joke...

Hahahahahahahahahahaha WHAT A JOKE! Who cares, Moeneeb Josephs wont be in the goal posts for Kaizer Chiefs. He's an oldie suffering from gum diseases who is jealous of a fact that The Number One GK in SA is none other than Itumeleng Khune, Minnie Dlamini's boyfriend, who also appears on Vaselin,Kiwi,KFC adverts. Oh yah Slimkat is an extra on that KFC advert, the main character is again Itumeleng. So Kick Off we dont if Jele is the current leading goal scorer at Gorilla United training. He will be facing a team that consists of players representing this Democratic country!

@zanetti........Bucs does not run to the media with unconfirmed stories, Kick off asked for a story where there's none.......Bucs will provide official stament when all paper work is sorted, we dont sign players in the media like other teams do. This guy has already been assessed 3 weeks back and pirates are happy with him but we cant say we have signed him if his team has not prided his clarence.

Moeneeb Josephs says the hunger of winning more trophies with the side has kept his ambitions burning for the up and coming season in the Orlando Pirates jersey.

The Buccaneers achieved a successive treble of trophies in the last campaign – the most prolific era in the club's 75-year history.

This also the goalkeeper's most rewarding period since making his professional debut in 1997.

"You know playing 13, 14 years of football, it's at Pirates now where I'm starting to win things," Josephs said.

"Things have been going well, and we have a good squad for this season again.

"There are still things to achieve this coming season. I still want us to defend all the titles we won [last season]."

@Zanetti you know being uninformed is such a shame, Takeshare was on trials at Pirates last year. With the doubt in securing Tokelo...he was then recalled for medicals at the beginning of pre-season and passed them and then negotiations started which were completed last week. Takeshre will be unveiled officially, the reason Modisane is distancing himself from any confirmation...remember Pirates doesn't unveil a jersey, but players!!!

..........................................................................................................................................................

You are just trying to compare two different things here. Teasing of Fundowns& chips stem from signing and having a lot of zim players in their books at once. If you can recall , chips had 6 zim players in their books with tinashe having SA citizenship, while fundowns on the other hand had sithole,mutizwa,nyandoro,mushekwi&mwanjali(5 zim players). Which was/is something unique in SA football. Pirates on the other side has always had only one zim player in their books frm the days of chikoya. The comment that came has to do with negotiating, of which, a player`s nationality is irrelevant. By the way I wanted to clarify, than siding resonating with the folk`s negotiating view.
