Mamelodi Sundowns would be 'career suicide' for Tokelo Rantie

Posted: 23 July 2012 Time: 03:53 pm

Orlando Pirates are dragging their feet in their deal with IFK Hassleholm for Tokelo Rantie, and Mamelodi Sundowns have offered more money, but the player still wants to join Pirates.

Rantie had a great season with Pirates, winning the League, Telkom Knockout and MTN8, and the Buccaneers are engaged in talks with his Swedish club for a permanent deal.

Sundowns recently signed Eleazar Rodgers from Santos for a reported R7-million.

A source close to Rantie tells KickOff.com that Hassleholm do not want to sell the player to Sundowns.

"Sundowns have nine strikers so it will be career suicide if Rantie joins them while his career is on the rise," our source says.

"The club in Sweden knows that, and the player knows this too, and that is why talks have only been between Pirates and Hassleholm.

"But the problem with Pirates is that they have made an offer of R1.5-million and that is peanuts to a European club.

"So if Pirates don't meet the right price, then Rantie will move back to Sweden and join another club – but definitely not Sundowns."

I trust The Duke to do the right thing - Rantie is worth more than R2 million. Just pay up Khoza, no more games, the vultures are flying over and looking to snatch him. Besides Ranties can be sold at more than 5 X the price soon, So live up to your name - what Khoza wants Khoza gets...

People can say whatever they want but Rantie is a Pirate. I was with the Iron Duke at Orlando Stadium and he rest assured us that the boy will be towing and masturbating the Zebras on the Carling cup.

He will be joined by Chinyama and Issacs at the club on thursday.

There's no way Pirates can offer 1,5 Million for Rantie... Pure lies, even Sangweni who's never played outside SA didn't cost that little I'm sure there shouldn't be a comma in those digits

But KO can report nonsense serious..did you spoke to the Swedish team to understand their asking price....This story was done on Sowetan and no amount of researched was done to it..Did your source know that Rantie is a Pirates player as we speak? Do you think Pirates will stall at signing a player costs R2 M if that was really an asking price? How so? they paid R3,5 M for Ayanda Gcaba so why not R2 M for Rantie...i mean these are Back To Back Trebles furthermore a 1 billion in sponsorship from Vodacom yet you make us think they couldnt pay R2 M....Hayi suka some will be convinced with this story but mina sorry......

People should understand that Khoza is not like the big mouth Bobby who goes around making noise on the media and up having only MulomowaZebra from the ten players he wished for.
Nor Khoza is the same as loose pantie Jesebel who after every bedroom consultation she goes around unveiling poppies as players.
