South African Ayanda Patosi was left disappointed as his Lokeren side lost 3-2 to league champions Anderlecht in the Belgian Super Cup on Sunday.

Patosi started the game, but watched as his side slipped to a 2-0 deficit early in the second half. However, he laid on his side's the first goal for Ivan Leko, before the latter added a second to make it 2-2.

However, Guillaume Gillet netted a winner for Anderlecht with 14 minutes left to play and Patosi was substituted shortly afterwards.

There were league wins for both of South Africa's Swedish-based players though. May Mahlangu helped steer last season's ‘Double' winners Helsingborg to a 3-1 win over Syrianska in the top-flight, while a division below Bradley Ralani played as Landskrona defeated Umea FC 2-1.

In friendly action, Thulani Serero scored his third goal of pre-season, this time against Scottish champions Glasgow Celtic.

His was the third in a 4-0 win for Ajax Amsterdam and yet more valuable minutes on the pitch for the Bafana Bafana playmaker. Ajax now head to England for matches against Premiership sides Southampton and Norwich City.

National Under-23 goalkeeper Darren Keet started for Kortrijk as they lost 2-1 to Turkish side Eskişehirspor, while Daylon Claasen played the second half of Lierse's 1-0 win over Dutch outfit Willem II.

Anele Ngcongca played the full 90 minutes of Genk's 2-0 win over Fortuna Sittard and Kgosi Ntlhe was in action for English Championship side Peterborough United as they lost 1-0 to Crawley Town.
