Nigeria's sole representatives at this years' edition of the CAF Champions League, Sunshine Stars of Akure, have reignited hopes of advancing from Group A.

After losing their opening fixture at home to Esperance, the 'Ondo Gunners' put up a resurgent performance to hold Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel to a goalless draw in Sousse, to earn valueable away points.

In the other Group A game, a late goal in the 90th minute by Cameroonian striker Yannick Ndjeng secure all the pionts at stake for group leaders Esperance.

Sunshine will continue their quest for qualification in a fortnight, when they host pointless ASO Chlef of Algeria. While Esperance and Etoile will meet in an all-Tunisian encounter.

All Group B games are scheduled for Sunday with TP Mazembe of DR Congo hosting Berekum Chelsea of Ghana and Zamalek confronting Al Ahly in a Cairo Derby that will be played behind closed doors because of security concerns.

Etiole du sahel 0-0 Sunshine Stars. Good result for Sunshine and i hope they can build on this feet. I saw an Enyimba character in them, they never allowed the Tunisian's to intimidate them. They could've won the match in the last period, apparently, insufficient self-belief hindered them. They need to be purposeful and play with focus, maybe the Sun could shine on them. I enjoyed Ojo's skills and theatrical antics, that's a perfect approach when playing North Africans. They should watch more of Enyimba's CL videos. Good-luck to Sunshine stars.
Meanwhile , the pix above depicts well-fed and handsome men......especially the keeper, no wonder they showed so much resilience yesterday. These guys can make a huge impression if they keep their heads up , with adequate plans by the club management anyway.
