Nigeria Premier League to resume next weekend

Nigeria Premier League acting executive secretary Tunji Babalola has confirmed that the season may resume again after the Federation Cup quarter finals on Monday.

The Premier League has been on hold since the Federation Cup entered the group stage.

Babalola told Goal.com that everything will be put in place for the league to start again after two weeks of inaction.

"The quarter finals of the Federation Cup will take place on Monday and after that we should have some time for the league matches.

"But we are also going to find out from the Nigeria Football Federation if they are going to have games by the weekend.

"If they don't, then we should be ready to play week 35 matches. The good thing is that Sunshine Stars would have been back from Tunisia where they went to play their Champions League game against Etoile Du Sahel.

"That means all the 10 fixtures will take place next weekend. We are committed to ensuring that the league ends with a worthy winner emerging as champions.

"All the clubs are itching to return to action after some weeks of rest and I am also looking foward to an exciting time when we start playing again," Babalola said.

Rangers are on top of the log with 58 points.
