Siyabonga Sangweni was the big winner at the Orlando Pirates end of the season awards tonight at Orlando Stadium.

He scooped the Player of the Season and the Carling Black Label Online Player of the Season awards.

The defender pocketed R40 000 and R120 000. He also walked away with a new Peugeot car.

Sangweni tells KickOff.com that he was very pleased with the awards.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank God for what he has done for me, giving me the chance to play football," he says.

"I also want to thank my family, team-mates, the supporters and the chairman for giving me a chance to play for this club.

"What I can promise everyone is that we will continue where we left of last season," he adds.

Up the Bucs! The champs did in style. This awards will serve as a motivation for a good premiership start in August as we will be tasked to defend our trebble for the third time in a row.

Good for Siya .
saterday will be easiest day, since Inkatha can't even score on empty net. McCarthy guaranteed a goal seeing that Chips fulbacks will be easy for Myeni and Co.

This was your night as Rats players and fans, however you can't just comment without using Chiefs name. You really like Chiefs and you even dream about how you would like to see them playing. Anyway, congrats to Siyabonga Sangweni, you derseve it. I still feel sorry for Andile Jali since I believe that if it wasn't for him this team would have still be trophieless and this will be proved when he leave to Europe which I doubt since the Toothless is so greedy!!!

Siya Sangweni must go sponsor the Gauteng Cup with his R160k winnings. Phela the whole family business will have to share R500k from Gauteng Cup. Family members Bobby, Jessica, JNR, Kaizer each take R50k. Family employeees (players) will end up getting R3320.00 each. At least they can buy a BlackBerry 8520.

Guys have you notice lately players who join Orlando Pirates they all say they are joining the team to win things, and players who join Kaizer Chiefs they say they are joining the team for game time, like Mathoho said.
