Moholo ready for Jali, Okonkwo fight

Manti Moholo ready for Orlando Pirates challenge

Posted: 19 July 2012 Time: 10:44 pm

Orlando Pirates’ new midfielder Manti Moholo says is ready for the massive challenge of earning a place in the starting XI.

Moholo joined the Buccaneers last month from Free State Stars, but few have given him a chance of regular action given the presence of Onyekachi Okonkwo, Thandani Ntshumayelo and Andile Jali in his preferred position.

However, the former AmaTuks midfielder insists he didn’t join Pirates just to sit in the stands.

“Pirates have achieved great success in the past two seasons and I know many people expect a lot from me to continue being part of a successful team,” Moholo tells KickOff.com.

“It’s a great challenge for me both as a person and a player to join a big team like Pirates. I am not afraid of competition because it’s everywhere in football. I can’t run away from competition; they are players and I am also a player – I just need to work hard and prove my worth.”

Pirates travel to Mpumalanga this weekend for the Mbombela Cup, where they will take on Mbabane Swallows, while Mamelodi Sundowns face Sivutsa Stars.

“It doesn’t matter which game or tournament, Pirates fans have no room for disappointment,” Moholo adds. “We will give it our all to win the tournament.”

I know Manti from the dusty streets of Diepkloof and Orlando east,he was a development of Pirates just before he joined Amatuks under Palacois and I believe he will successed at the Galaxy of starts because the boy knows football he is a hard worker, commited and respect the game sticks to basics he plays similar to George Maluleke of fomer Ajax now supersport player,I know if given a chance he will succesed at Pirates Good luck Manti we need you to help Jali and Manyisa....Sorry to say this to Onyekachi Okonkwo its time South african young players shine.

Mr Editor great work on reworking the look and feel of the site. It's more inviting.

Here's some friendly advice...before a comment is uploaded you need to trim the start and end of the paragraph and remove unnecessary spacing as well empty
tags in the html. You can remove the
tags using basic javascript or jquery if that's your thing. While you at it you can also modify the global.css file and add "text-align: justify" to line 3181 (i.e. .comment class) in the stylesheet. This will ensure that all text is justified and you maximize on the space within the .

Use it, don't use it...it's up to you. Great work though!

Solly Moholo, I hope for your sake you are not treated like a Gorilla and you make it. Mara displacing Ace or Jali will require great effort. Even Mayanga couldn't displace after trying to impress the coach n chairperson with an unlicensed pistol.
