Maritzburg United have parted ways with Diyo Sibisi but Nigerian midfielder Prince Olomu remains under contract at the club though he is training at Tuks.
Sibisi has been released from his contract which still had two years remaining after coming to an agreement with the club to allow him to leave.
The striker has already started training with SuperSport United in the hope of winning a deal.
"We have come to an agreement with Diyo that he leaves the club," says Farook Kadodia, the Maritzburg boss.
"It was basically two parties coming to a mutual agreement to allow him to pursue his career elsewhere. We, as a club, don’t want to hold him back in his career and he can now find a club where he will play his football regularly like he wants to," explains Kadodia.
Sibisi still had two years remaining on his contract with Maritzburg but was unhappy about having fallen out of favour since the arrival of Zimbabwean striker Cuthbert Malajila who has been leading the Team of Choice’s attack.
Kadodia had already indicated that he is willing to listen to offers for Sibisi due to the fact that though he wasn’t a regular anymore he was still on a high package at the club.
Regarding Olomu – Kadodia says the Nigerian remains on the transfer list.
"We have allowed him to train with University of Pretoria but he remains contracted to us because there has been no communication in our direction since he left," he adds.
