Calvin Kadi has announced that he will not be extending his stay with Greek side Veria FC because of "personal reasons".
The Polokwane-born striker helped Veria gain promotion to the Greek Super League last season and topped their goalscoring charts, but his agency Prosport International confirm that he has decided to return to South Africa for personal and family reasons.
"I'd like to thank Veria for the opportunity they gave me. I want to personally thank the President of Veria, Mr [Georgios] Arvanitidis, for the trust that he showed in me by offering me a new contract at the club, but for now, I have some personal and family commitments in South Africa which I must attend to.
"I felt at home at Veria and I'd like to think I did well for the team. I enjoyed my stay in Greece, I made friends and did my job to the best of my ability," he says.
"I was always proud to hear the fans singing my name during matches last season. I felt honoured that they appreciated my contribution to the team and I do hope to keep in touch with them.
"I'd really like to visit Veroia Stadium again at some point to thank the club, the President and the fans properly, but for now I have things that I must focus on at home".
Kadi, who was keeping fit at Bidvest Wits, will now be on the hunt for a new club in South Africa.
