Igesund was accompanied by assistant Thomas Madigage and Serame Letsoaka to see the treble champions win the first match 2-0, with Benni McCarthy scoring a brace, while Arrows claimed the second match 1-0.
Bucs played some of their new signings, including Patrick ‘Nandos’ Mashele, Khethokwakhe Masuku, Jomo Rakhele and Manti Moholo.
Speaking to KickOff.com afterwards, Pirates coach Augusto Palacios says he is happy with the way their preparations are progressing.
“This was our fourth friendly since we’ve started pre-season, and I am happy with our progress so far,” he says. “The players are showing great commitment and a winning mentality, even at training.”
He adds: “We played the first match with most of the regular players and used the second match to see some of our trialists and those players invited from our development.”
