May Mahlangu was restored to the Helsingborg starting line-up on Saturday after two weeks of sitting on the bench.

The Swedish champions beat Syrianska 1-0 at home thanks to a 93rd-minute winner, another lackluster display from last year’s ‘Double’ winners. Helsingborg are now six points behind leaders Elfsborg at the midway point of the season.

Cheyne Fowler’s Finnish side VPS lost 3-1 at home to TPS to slip to sixth, seven points behind leaders Inter Turku.

Thulani Serero was on target for Ajax Amsterdam as they recorded an 8-0 win over VV Noordwijk on Saturday, his second goal of pre-season.

Darren Keet was again given a start for his Belgian side Kortrijk as they defeated Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag. The national Under-23 goalkeeper has now started all the team’s pre-season games and should be the number one keeper in the coming campaign.

Anele Ngcongca’s Genk side lost 2-0 at home to PSV Eindhoven from the Netherlands, with the Bafana Bafana right-back playing the first 62 minutes.

And finally, Ayanda Patosi laid on the second goal for Lokeren as they drew 2-2 with Saudi Arabian outfit Al Shabab. The 19-year-old has been excellent in pre-season so far, and played another starring role in this game.
