Mogorosi has signed a three-year deal with Celtic, but the transfer has been kept under wraps. According to those in the know, the Botswana international penned the deal a week ago.
"Joel signed last week Friday and he is coming from Botswana today. He is going to join Celtic today in camp and will play the friendly with Golden Arrows tomorrow," the source reveals.
Celtic and Arrows will play the friendly on Sunday in Pretoria as Siwelele continue their pre-season preparations in Gauteng.
So what happened to the two-year deal Mogorosi signed with Zimbabwean side FC Platinum in March?
FC Platinum paid Mogorosi's team Mochudi Centre Chiefs P400 000 for the player and he was expected in Zimbabwe around July 15.
However, Centre Chiefs have, according to some reports, agreed a P3 million deal with Bloem Celtic for the player and in turn, Centre Chiefs have paid FC Platinum P1 million. So in essence, the Zimbabwean team has made a P600 000 profit from the player who never touched the ball for them.
Good business for FC Platinum, but you can say the same for Centre Chiefs because instead of settling for P400 000 FC Platinum paid them initially for Mogorosi, they are walking away now with a lot more from Celtic.
The figures could be subject to correction, because the clubs involved in the deal haven't officially confirmed them.
