The Students have been one of the busier teams in the transfer market this season, but missed out on Rodgers when he signed for Mamelodi Sundowns for R7-million from Santos yesterday.
Wits have since been tipped to shift their focus to Isaacs, whose proposed move to Kaizer Chiefs looks to have fallen through, but Ferreira insists that is not the case.
He also dismisses reports that Wits offered R5.5-million for Rodgers, who had made know his desire to join the Students.
"It is ridiculous to suggest that Bidvest Wits would even consider making an offer like that," Ferreira tells KickOff.com.
"We expressed interest in signing the player last month and I personally phoned [Santos chairman] Goolam Allie on June 18 to formally table an offer for the player. But this amount was nowhere near the figures suggested in the media reports.
"It became clear to us that we were nowhere near the transfer fee that Santos were prepared to accept and we never tabled another offer after that."
He adds: "Bidvest Wits is a responsible club and we will not get involved in any kind of irresponsible trading as suggested by the transfer fee rumoured to have been tabled by us.
"These rumours are very damaging to us as a club because not only are they not true, but also because they make it very difficult for us to trade in the transfer market when clubs believe that we have that kind of money to splash on transfer fees."
