Moleko has signed a three-year-deal with the Glamour Boys.
"I had two options overseas but when an opportunity to join Chiefs availed itself I could not turn it down," he tells Chiefs' official website.
"I want to establish myself at Chiefs before I can think of furthering my career in Europe."
The 22-year-old says he is excited to link up with his former Celtic teammate Erick Mathoho, whose number three jersey was prematurely unveiled at the presentation of seven other new signings – including Moleko – at the end of June.
Mathoho has since signed a contract with the club.
"I am happy to have 'Tower' around," Moleko says. "We have always been close and he is someone I can count on for guidance on and off the pitch."
The Rocklands-born defender says he is hoping to win some trophies with the Glamour Boys, to appease the Amakhosi fans.
"We all know that Kaizer Chiefs is an ambitious club and one can see with the type of players that the team signed this season. The fans are expecting trophies following a season where the team did not win a cup.
"I have not won a trophy yet in my career and I see joining Chiefs as an opportunity for me to win things."
'Edgar' adds, however, that this season will be a learning curve for him: "It is of course not about me but the team. I am going to learn as much as I can from the senior players but it is also my intention to write my name in the history books of this club.
"This calls for hard work and I have no doubt that if I keep my feet on the ground and listen to those who were there before me I will achieve my goals in life."
