The Urban Warriors announced that Grobler was signed from Turkish club Göztepe on a four-year deal, but it appears now they jumped the gun.
Grobler was made to believe it was a done deal and he was quoted at the time saying, "Their professionalism and European training methods attracted me to the club. I am looking forward to a long and successful time at Ikamva."
However, Grobler is now singing a different tune as he reveals that he has been informed that the deal is in fact not done.
"Well, it is a difficult situation," he says. "I'm going back to Turkey tonight to fix a few things ... the clubs are still trying to negotiate terms. I'm not 100 percent sure. Hopefully next week I will know what's happening."
Apparently, Ajax Cape Town directors are still entangled in a bitter feud, relating to the power struggle at the club that has led to court battles and they allegedly don't agree on some signings.
The club's CEO George Comitis could not be reached for comment to shed light on this claims, as he is in on holiday overseas and he will only return on July 18.
