Despite a horror start to their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, new Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund is still confident of making the trip to Brazil.
Igesund took over from Pitso Mosimane, who could only manage a home draw against Ethiopia and another stalemate away to Botswana.
But despite the four points lost, Igesund still believes they can turn it around.
“At the moment we’re sitting in a difficult position – we’ve lost four points – but I honestly still believe we can qualify,” Igesund said at a business briefing in Sandton.
Reaching the 2014 World Cup and the semifinals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations is the two mandates imposed on Igesund by Safa.
Do you think the 2014 World Cup mandate is fair on Igesund?
