Kermit Erasmus offered trial at Swedish club Helsingborgs

SuperSport United striker Kermit Erasmus has been offered a week-long trial at Swedish club Helsingborgs, but it seems he might not be let go.

The 22-year-old Bafana Bafana international started to find some form towards the end of the 2011/12 season after a fairly disappointing time of it following a return to South Africa from the Netherlands.

This recent form has caught the attention of a few overseas clubs, including Helsingborgs, who have offered the player a week-long trial with a view to offering him a contract.

However, KickOff.com has learnt that SuperSport are reluctant to let the player go because a few local clubs have offered more than what the Swedes are prepared to pay.

SuperSport director Graham Abrahams admits that there has been an offer for a trial from Helsingborgs, but says that they have first requested to meet with Erasmus and his agent, Ivan Modia of ExtraTime, and that they will go into the meeting “with an open mind”.

Erasmus has not yet rejoined his teammates at pre-season training as he is attending to some personal matters.
