MLS offer for Diouf

MLS offer for Maritzburg United defender Mor Diouf

Maritzburg United are expecting an offer today from a Major League Soccer club who want to sign their Senegalese centre-back Mor Diouf.

Diouf is currently training with the Team of Choice, but with the club allowing him to pursue a career abroad, his agents are working around the clock.

Confirming the interest to KickOff.com is Maritzburg Operations Office Quintin Jettoo.

"Yes it is true. We are expecting an offer sometime today from the MLS," he says. "We are not certain which club it is, but we have said that we will allow Mor Diouf to pursue his dreams of going overseas so we will stick to this."

This news will not go down well with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, who also want the defender. But Diouf has said all along that his first prize is to play abroad.

Diouf did not miss a single minute of League action last season and did not pick up one yellow card in an extraordinary return for his club. He also scored four goals.
