Safa defends non-payment of Amajita Under-20 players

Head of national teams Lindile 'Ace' Kika has defended Safa after allegations that they still owe Under-20 players their allowances from the 8 Nations tournament.

The tournament took place in Cape Town from May 25 to June 3, and KickOff.com has gathered that Safa has still not paid Amajita players, despite their wonderful performance during the tournament.

The Solly Luvhengo-led side received bronze medals after beating Japan 7-6 on penalties in the third/fourth place play-off.

Kika concedes that some players have not yet been paid, but claims the situation is the result of tax documents not being submitted.

"I am aware that there are a few players that have still not been paid but this is because they have not submitted the necessary documents related to tax," Kika says.

"You must remember that we are living in a country governed by rules and I must advise those players that still have not been paid to contact the manager to sort out the issue of their payment."
