Moroka Swallows have stuck with the same squad that finished as runners-up last season with the entire team that enjoyed a miraculous League run last season still inside the nest of the Dube Birds.

The only new face for newly-promoted head coach Zeca Marques is Nigerian winger Felix Obada who has been snapped up from Maritzburg United.

All the 21 players that took to the pitch last season have all returned to training including those that had hanging contractual matters going into the break amongst them Roger da Costa, Cheick Cisse, MacBeth Sibaya and Mpho Maleka.

Actually, Swallows stand as the only club that has neither transfer listed nor released any players from the squad that did duty for them last season leaving a path of continuity for the Birds going into the new season.

Leon Prins, the Swallows CEO, says so far there is no conclusive decision that has been made about departures.

"No one is really leaving at the moment," says Prins.

Prins does however confirm that youngsters Freddie Ngobese and Lelethu Mkatshane have all been allowed to leave.

Swallows had a small squad last season that saw just 21 players used all season including two that started a single game Bongani Twala and Da Costa plus another four who started less than 10 games.

In essence Swallows had a core of 15 players last season that Gordon Igesund trusted with starting games with Greg Etafia and Siyabonga Nomvete playing all 30 League games.
