The South African Football Association (Safa) and Steve Komphela have failed to reach an agreement on the position of Technical Director within the Association.
Safa had offered Komphela the position; however, he has confirmed through his agent that he unfortunately could not take the position at this time.
He has therefore chosen to stay with Free State Stars as head coach.
The position of Technical Director is currently vacant after Serame Letsoaka’s contract ended last month.
The job for the vacant Bafana Bafana coaching job had been between Gordon Igesund and Komphela with Igesund eventually getting the position.
