Stan Matthews could be set for a quick return to SuperSport United following his decision to quit as the Premier Soccer League’s CEO.
Matthews only took up the post six months ago, having succeeded Zola Majavu, who himself lasted just three months in the job.
Matthews previously served as Director of Football at Matsatsantsa, overseeing their three consecutive League triumphs, and he is now seemingly heading back to Tshwane.
“I will not be surprised if he goes back to SuperSport United,” PSL Chairman Irvin Khoza said yesterday.
The League has already started their search for Matthews successor, with Chief Operating Officer Cambridge Mokanyane put in temporary charge.
