Bidvest Wits have opened up foreign space by allowing the Brazilian duo of Fabricio da Silva Rodrigues and David de Oliviera to leave following the expiry of their contracts.

Both Brazilians first arrived at Wits in 2008 with Rodrigues spending some time on loan at Vasco da Gama while Oliviera also spent a year back in Brazil.

With the foreign space that has been opened following the release of the Brazilians, Wits have welcomed two Zimbabweans Denver Mukamba and Roderick Mutuma for trials.

Wits also have a Malawian striker named Robin on trials.

“The Brazilians have left and we now have two Zimbabwean players and a Malawian on trials. I want to finalise my squad for the season by next week so we should have sorted out things by then,” says Roger de Sa, the Wits coach.

The three other foreign spots at the club have already been taken by Thomas Sweswe, Energy Murambadoro and Ayo Oluwafemi.

Wits have already let Ugandan defender Timothy Batabaire leave but Zambian defender Kampamba Chintu is still under contract and so has stayed put for now.
