Igesund and Komphela were the final two candidates and did their final presentations earlier today, with the former eventually emerging the victor; the popular choice if a recent poll on KickOff.com is anything to go by.
But when quizzed on what would happen with Komphela, who had served as an assistant coach under Pitso Mosimane and who took over caretaker responsibilities following his dismissal, Nemantandani dodged the issue.
"This is another process we are now going to engage in. The coach, together with the technical committee, will come up with what it is that he will need," he said.
"We normally allow the coach to make suggestions, but of course the technical committee will be working very, very closely to decide who it is he will be working with."
Asked whether Safa wasted time in waiting this long to get rid of Mosimane and appoint a new coach, Nemantandani was equally cautious.
"Yes and no. No, because we couldn't anticipate the future. Yes, because if he was appointed then we would have had ample time to go through the processes. At the end of the day we had to give the coach we had a chance, but unfortunately it didn't work out."
