Thanda slam ‘bullsh*t’ bribery claims

Thanda Royal Zulu deny bribery claims in Promotional Play-offs

Thanda Royal Zulu have reacted angrily to rumours that some members of the club had accepted bribes to throw their final play-off game against Chippa United on Wednesday.

Thanda lost the game 3-0 to end their hopes of promotion, with Chippa and Santos due to contest the final match this afternoon.

Rumours abounded after Wednesday’s match in KZN that some members at the club ‘threw’ the game, but Thanda manager Thabani Gumede has rejected the allegations in the strongest possible manner.

“From the club, the chairman and everyone associated with the team, we term this as bullsh*t,” Gumede tells KickOff.com.

“This is nonsense. We lost the game against Chippa fair and square. We lost against Santos here at home and who was paid? And we beat them away and who did we pay?”

“Whoever came up with these allegations must come out; we are ready to take the matter to the PSL.”
