Six years in the Cosmos first team had Gould red carded seven times in the 90 games that he played during that time while at SuperSport he was only sent off twice in four years but also had contributed in attack scoring 15 goals.
Now stepping up to a bigger platform at Chiefs, Gould looks back on his career path.
"I started off at Cosmos and I took Cosmos as crèche where I learnt a lot of basics while laying the base for myself. I had expectations and committed mistakes," he says of his time at Ezenkosi.
"Then I went to SuperSport where I got into a more senior role where I grew to find out that I have got what it takes to become a better player. It was while I was at SuperSport that I got into the national team and I started to make a name for myself.
"Joining Chiefs is graduation time. I need to just stick in and work hard then take my game to the next level and God knows what may come out of this.
"It has been a gradual movement up the ranks for me and working on me as an individual. Football wise what more can I expect. I am just happy that I made a move," says the Bafana Bafana defender.
Gould says he will keep on playing to the best of his abilities as he is at Chiefs to make a difference.
"I am not perfect because no one is but I will always try to do things to the best of our knowledge and ability which is what I did along the years. I will give it my best shot...I am here not just to put my name on the Chiefs brand but to make a difference.
"Hard work and determination and just working together with the team and technical team is all I can give," says Gould.
