Orlando Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi could be named the Gauteng Sports Personality of the Year during the Gauteng Sports Awards to be held at the Emperors Palace tomorrow.
Lekgwathi, who led Bucs to win “The Treble” for a second season in a row, was nominated along with Neil McKenzie and Marsha Marescia from Cricket and Hockey respectively.
"Its a great honour for me to be nominated for this award," Lekgwathi tells KickOff.com.
"This is due to hard work and credit should also go to my team, Orlando Pirates, who helped me to be recognised for this special event in Gauteng.
"If I win this award it will go down as one of my greatest achievements together with my success at Orlando Pirates," he adds.
