Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune promises silverware in the new season

Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune has promised that the club will be going out for every piece of silverware available in the new season.

Last season Chiefs had a disappointing season in which they finished with no silverware but with Chiefs having been busy in the transfer market, Khune has switched on a war cry of hope.

"We are looking to redeem ourselves this coming season," promises Khune.

Chiefs start off their season with the Carling Black Label Cup against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates on July 28 before then moving on to the MTN8 whose matches will sandwich the start of the League.

AmaKhosi will also be hoping to reclaim the Telkom Knockout crown while also hoping to win the national cup for the first time under the Nedbank sponsorship.

"We will be going for everything on offer. We really need to redeem our pride and our position of dominating the PSL which means we have to go for everything on offer," says the Bafana Bafana number one.

Khune will start off the sixth season since making his professional debut as the Chiefs captain after taking over from Jimmy Tau midway through last season.
