Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Thomas Sweswe is already feeling at home at his new club after signing a two-year contract with Bidvest Wits.

The Clever Boys, who continue to bolster their side by signing experienced players, beat Black Leopards to the signature of the Zimbabwean defender as activity on the transfer market gathers momentum.

Sweswe’s confidence has been boosted by the presence of fellow Zimbabwean Tinashe Nengomasha, who also joined Wits from Chiefs recently.

Zimbabwean goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro is also on the books of Bidvest Wits.

“It’s a two-year deal and I am happy that I have signed with a Johannesburg club. I am at home here in Johannesburg and I aim to continue working hard, as I have always done, to help my new club win trophies,” Sweswe tells The Herald.

“It also feels good that I will be playing with Tinashe. We come a long way together from the juniors up to the senior national team. We were also played together at Chiefs and I believe we make a good team.”

Wits coach Roger de Sa might soon have another Zimbabwean within his ranks if he manages to persuade striker Benjani Mwaruwari to sign with the club.
