Free State Stars midfielder Mzikayise Mashaba will remain at the club for at least another season, putting to rest speculation that has linked him with a move to the big-spending Gauteng clubs.

Mashaba has recently broken into the Bafana Bafana set-up.

KickOff.com has been told that Mashaba – who still has another two years on his contract – will not be moving as he still needs to built on his career at the club.

After an impressive season there had been suggestions that Mashaba could leave the club, with Kaizer Chiefs being singled out as a possible destination.

The 23-year-old has also been awarded with an increased package in the two years he still has remaining on his contract.

Though the rest of the Ea Lla Koto squad returned to training last week, Mashaba is among the players given an extended break after playing international football in June.

Other Stars players that have been given an extended break are Dove Wome, Sadate Ouro Akoriko, Morou Zakari, Noah Chivuta, Kennedy Mweene and Soriola Gege.
